From a young age I started questioning why all the songs on the radio were about love and always so happy. It never made sense to me at the time but I did find some artists that spoke to me in the form of Michael Jackson and MeatLoaf and if we're being honest Cher and Tina Turner and this is what I mostly listened to until I found Gun's 'N' Rose's and convinced my mother to buy me the Use your illusions cassette which was listened to almost 24/7 for years!

Discovering the World of Heavy Metal!

It wasn't until I was 14 years old and we were on a family holiday heading towards France, that I discovered something that would put my life on an entirely different trajectory! On the ferry over to France I was in the store that sold all sorts of random tourist type things and I saw something behind the counter that I couldn't take my eyes off of. It was a double cassette, black cover with an Iron Eagle and jagged Text also in a metallic style. I didn't know what I was looking at but it felt like something I HAD to have! I didn't have the money to buy it and I wasn't getting any money from my parents till we got to France BUT when I did I kept enough to buy this cassette and when I got on the Boat to come home again after the holiday I ran as fast as I could to the store on the boat hoping and praying and to my delight, it was still there!

As it turns out that Cassette tape ended up being Judas Priest - Metal Works 73 -93.

That moment changed my life forever!
